Have you seen the Program Book for the TESOL convention in Toronto? For ESP practitioners and researchers, there are some very exciting and informative sessions! In this TESOL Blog post, I would like to share some information about these sessions with you! (The descriptions below are replicated from the Program Book.)

Best Practices in ESP Program Design, Implementation, and Evaluation
Wednesday, 9 am–4 pm
This workshop introduces best practices in ESP program design, implementation, and evaluation, and provides a practical toolkit for both new and experienced practitioners in ESP. Participants receive hands-on practice with needs assessment instruments and discourse analysis frameworks for ESP, as well as access to a website with online resources.

Building Global Bridges Through U.S. Government Sponsored ESP Projects
Thursday, 1 pm–2:45 pm
The U.S. Departments of State and Defense send ELT professionals across borders every year to aid in developing ESP programs that affect populations from illiterate street vendors to Supreme Court Justices and everyone in between. Panelists share about the challenges and best practices involved in sustaining these programs.
